My world is like a set of mirrors
that reflect us with different points of view.
I am interested in how I am reflected in the world 
and how the world is reflected in my body, soul, and spirit. 

My art is a continuous journey in search of my self-identity
and an intrinsic effort to realize my self-reflections
through various artistic mediums 
as a way to connect my world to the outer world. 
This is what I call “Young Sun Art”.
It is my appreciation of who I am
and what I am given in this life as a unique human being.

With my art,
I try to go beyond
what I can reach with words, definitions, categorization, or theories.
I put a value observing
and rethinking every human experience integrated with inexplicable knowledge,
emotions, beliefs, intuition, layered time and space, and serendipitous events,
rather than trying to prove and fix it with a superficial knowledge system.
I hope my works can suggest another view to the existing perceptions
and broaden the boundary of human understanding.


내가 보는 세상은 
다양한 관점을 투영하는 각기 다른 거울과도 같다.
나는 세상에 반영된 내 모습과 
내게 반영된 세상의 모습을 관찰하는 것에 흥미를 느낀다. 

나의 창작 과정은 자아를 찾는 여정이며,
다양한 미디어를 통해
이런 반영된 모습들을 인지가능한 결과물로 실현해 내어,
내 안의 세계를 외부와 소통하고자 하는 본연의 노력이다.
이는 이미 누구와도 닮지 않은 완벽한 신의 창조물로 태어난 “나”라는 존재와
이에 따라 주어진 내 삶을 존중하려는 것이다.

나는 작품을 통해서
언어적 정의, 분류, 또는 일반화된 이론 등으로 이해할 수 있는
범위를 넘어서는 방식으로 소통하고 싶다.
즉, 설명하기 힘든 지식, 감정, 믿음, 직관, 중첩된 시간과 공간, 우연적인 사건들로 점철된
삶의 경험을 피상적인 지식체계로 증명하고 고착화시키기보다는
이를 관찰하고 재고하는 것에 중점을 둔다. 
이로 인해 내 작업이 기존의 인식 위에 또 하나의 관점을 제시하고
세상에 대한 이해의 반경을 넓힐 수 있기를 희망한다.
